Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight) adalah bintang pop terkenal dan idola remaja, pemusik yang sangat sukses di seluruh dunia. Setelah di California, Sara meyakinkan adiknya Jessica (Danielle Campbell), untuk menemaninya ke klub malam di mana ia bisa bertemu dengan idolanya tersebut. Sara menyuruh  Jessica menunggu di luar klub sementara ia masuk ke dalam. Bosan menunggu, Jessica meninggalkan mobil untuk mencari Sara. Tak disangka kepalanya terbentur pintu yang dibuka oleh Christopher. Untuk menghindari paparazzi, Christopher melarikan Jessica ke rumah sakit untuk diperiksa, kemudian membawa Jessica ke rumahnya sehingga ia dapat tampil di depan sutradara film. Dia kemudian mengantar Jessica pulang, dan Jessica mengizinkan dia untuk tinggal di garasi neneknya malam itu karena ia dibuntuti paparazzi.

Hari berikutnya Sara membawa Jessica ke Malibu Pantai dengan harapan Christopher berada disana. Sara pergi untuk berjemur di pantai, tapi Jessica menemukan Christopher yang sedang menyamar dan duduk disebelahnya. 

Kedua dipaksa untuk kabur dari pantai ketika paparazzi tiba, begitu mereka pergi, Christopher menunjukkan Jessica tempat-tampat di sekitar Los Angeles. Ketika mencoba untuk kembali ke Malibu, mereka kembali terlihat oleh paparazzi, tapi untuk menghindari paparazi mereka keluar dari jalan utama, dan menenggelamkan mobil nenek Jessica di kolam lumpur. Sambil berjalan kembali ke Malibu, mereka kembali berdebat, Jessica bilang kalau hidup Christopher "palsu". Akhirnya, Christopher mengaku bahwa ia menikmati berteman dengan Jessica karena Jessica tidak benar-benar meminta sesuatu darinya, dan mereka berbaikan lagi.

Ketika mereka kembali ke pantai, bagaimanapun, Christopher memberitahu Jessica tidak ada yang boleh tahu apa yang terjadi di antara mereka pada hari itu, dan bilang kalau paparazzi akan merusak hidupnya. Jessica patah hati dan marah, ia kembali ke Kalamazoo dengan keluarganya, tetapi paparazzi membuat berita antara dirinya dan Christopher. Kembali di Kalamazoo, Jessica menonton Christopher bercerita di acara talk show bahwa ia belum pernah bertemu dengan Jessica. Paparazzi membuat Christopher terpaksa untuk berbohong dan menyembunyikan dirinya dari dunia nyata, Jessica menemui paparazzi di luar rumahnya, dan mengatakan kepada mereka bahwa dia tidak pernah bertemu Christopher.
 

Alexis menemukan bahwa Christopher berhubungan dengan seseorang yang tidak terkenal, Alexis memutuskan hubungan mereka dan menjadi teman karena dia akan berkencan dengan orang lain. Christopher menyadari bahwa ia bebas untuk mengejar Jessica. Temannya baiknya Stubby (Brandon Mychal Smith) meyakinkannya bahwa ia harus mulai membuat pilihan sendiri.

Setelah AJ, sahabat Sara yang juga terobsesi dengan Christoper Wilde dengan kejam menghina Jessica karena  ucapannya di televisi, Sara mengusirnya keluar dari rumah dan menawarkan Jessica untuk pergi ke pesta dansa sekolah dengannya. Jessica menerima, dan Sara membantu dia bersiap-siap untuk dansa. Saat dansa, Christopher muncul dan meminta maaf pada Jessica melalui sebuah lagu. Ketika paparazzi muncul, dia mengatakan kepada mereka bahwa ia sudah berbohong dan mengatakan ia tergila-gila dengan Jessica.
